Overview

Wrench Group is experiencing exponential growth impacting our partner locations and with this growth comes career opportunity.  We are seeking a COO to lead the operational functions and teams at MAX Service Group. 

 

MAX Service Group, operates five leading heating, cooling and plumbing companies in the Midwest. As part of the Wrench Group family since June 2020, MAX Service Group operates Williams Comfort Air and Mr. Plumber in Indianapolis and central Indiana, Thomas & Galbraith Heating, Cooling & Plumbing in Cincinnati and southwestern Ohio, Buckeye Heating and Cooling in greater Columbus, Ohio and Jarboe’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing in greater Louisville, Kentucky.

 

This position will have operational leadership oversight for these five locations and plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization's day-to-day operations align with its strategic goals and contribute to overall success. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, have a hands-on approach to address operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.  This position is office based in Indianapolis, IN with relocation assistance available.

 

Candidates with over 10 years residential Home Services (HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing) leadership experience overseeing $150M+ multi-unit businesses with a track record of year over year business growth are highly desired.

 

Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the operational functions of the organization.
  • Build and lead a high-performing operational team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative working culture within the organization

Operational Oversight:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
  • Streamline and optimize business processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure effective utilization of resources and technology to support operations.

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the CFO or finance team to develop and manage the operational budget.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving measures.

Strategic Planning:

  • Work closely with other leadership partners to contribute to the development and execution of the overall business strategy.
  • Translate strategic objectives into operational plans and initiatives.

Communication:

  • Foster effective communication channels across different departments and levels within the organization.
  • Report regularly to stakeholders on operational performance and key metrics.

Business Development:

  • Collaborate with other executives to identify and pursue business growth opportunities.
  • Assess the feasibility of new projects and initiatives from an operational standpoint.

Customer Focus:

  • Ensure a customer-centric approach in operational activities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and improve customer service processes.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology for operational improvements and innovation.

Performance Measurement:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of operational objectives.
  • Regularly assess and report on the performance of operational processes.

Crisis Management:

  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and crises.
  • Lead the organization through challenging times with resilience and adaptability.
